How much is your investment, for a commissioned work?

Prices range from NZ$500 upwards and will depend on the size, the particular style you are looking for, the complexity of the work and the amount of time involved to complete the painting. I’ll always use the best quality canvases, boards and paints. I can give you a more definite guideline as to how long the artwork would take me to complete once the details of the commission work have be finalised (as a guide 3-6 weeks from commencement).

My Gallery (see menu above) provides you with an overview of the styles I enjoy painting. Obviously the work you want commissioned needs to resonate with me as well. Animals and portraits are not my forte.

The following steps are taken for commission artworks

A. Initial Contact: Please either email or phone me.

B. We discuss the details of your visual concept for the artwork, ie: size, style, colours, and concept and image specifics. You may need to send photos that you want me to work off (sending these via email are preferred as I can enlarge and crop them on my computer).

C. I’ll then come back with a concept proposal. Details of delivery date and costs are also detailed. The cost includes packaging and delivery within New Zealand. (for International delivery, packaging costs will be added to the final payment balance.)

D. The design is confirmed and a 20% deposit obtained. I can then order the custom-made canvas/art board if required.

E. Optional – I can email visual updates to you as the painting progresses (some like waiting until the artwork is completed)

F. Painting completed. I’ll send photographs to you.

G. Paintings packaged and couriered to you. If you live locally I can come and hang the painting if you like. Balance of payment is due and payable on delivery.

The above process is important in managing expectations and avoiding any disappointment.
